Summarize this page with
Wegovy is semaglutide, made by Novo Nordisk, approved for weight management. Novo sells it to self-pay patients through its own pharmacy, NovoCare Pharmacy. Every price here was read from Novo's or the clinic's own page and re-checked on October 11, 2026, the day this page was published.
What Wegovy is approved for
In Novo's words, Wegovy is used with a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity to "help adults with obesity, or some adults with excess weight (overweight) who also have weight-related medical problems to lose weight and keep the weight off," and to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke or death in adults with known heart disease and obesity or overweight.
Wegovy's self-pay price, from Novo Nordisk
From NovoCare Pharmacy and Novo's price guide. Novo defines a month as one box of four pens, or one bottle of 30 tablets.
| Wegovy | Dose | Self-pay price |
|---|---|---|
| Pen | 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg | $199 a month for the first 2 fills (new patients, through December 31, 2026), then $349 |
| Pen | 1 mg, 1.7 mg, 2.4 mg | $349 a month |
| Wegovy HD pen | 7.2 mg | $399 a month |
| Pill | 1.5 mg | $149 a month |
| Pill | 4 mg | $199 a month |
| Pill | 9 mg, 25 mg | $299 a month |
Novo's terms for the pen offer, in its words: patients new to the savings offer or NovoCare Pharmacy "pay $199 for each month of 0.25 mg & 0.5 mg. Offer is for 2 monthly fills through December 31, 2026, then $349 per month for Wegovy 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 1.7 mg, or 2.4 mg, and $399 per month for Wegovy HD (semaglutide) injection 7.2 mg." Novo also says: "To pay these prices, you must fill your prescription using NovoCare Pharmacy or use the savings offer."
If you have insurance or Medicare
What Novo says, and nothing beyond it:
- Commercial insurance. "Pay as little as $25, subject to a maximum savings of $100/month. Government beneficiaries excluded."
- Medicare, for weight management. "Eligible patients pay $50 per month" for Wegovy "through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program." Novo says that "Beginning July 1, 2026, the program will be available nationwide and provide eligible adults access to all doses and formulations of Wegovy injection and Wegovy pill for weight management through the end of 2027."
- Medicare, for other approved uses. "Wegovy is covered through normal Medicare Part D benefits for eligible patients when prescribed for other FDA-approved uses, including to reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular (CV) events in adults with established CV disease with either obesity or overweight."
- Medicaid. "Coverage varies by state for patients enrolled in Medicaid looking to be prescribed Wegovy for weight loss alone."
Getting Wegovy online
NovoCare Pharmacy fills prescriptions but does not write them, so the question is which clinics will write a Wegovy prescription without making you buy the drug through them. Of the online clinics we track that list brand Wegovy:
- Sesame says so directly. Its Wegovy page describes how its providers "send your prescription to the NovoCare pharmacy," and its care fee is $59 a month on a 12-month commitment or $99 a month month to month, billed every 28 days, with the medication paid separately. Sesame is an affiliate partner.
- Fridays lists a Wegovy membership with medication excluded: $49 for the first month, "then as low as $98/mo with a prepaid annual plan." Its page doesn't say where the medication is then bought.
- MEDGm lists "$99 membership + medication cost" for Wegovy. It doesn't publish the medication cost or where the drug is bought. MEDGm is an affiliate partner.
- RxSpan MD sells Wegovy at $1,349 "for the first month" and does not publish the price after that; its Wegovy page does not say what the $1,349 covers. RxSpan MD is an affiliate partner.
On Sesame's published numbers, care plus Novo's self-pay price for the standard pen comes to about $408 a month on the 12-month plan ($59 + $349) or $448 month to month ($99 + $349). That is our arithmetic, not a price either company quotes.
